People with disabilities face unique challenges in various aspects of life. Unfortunately, the dream of homeownership remains unattainable for them due to the soaring costs of housing and rentals in the area.

The skyrocketing prices exacerbate their already daunting obstacles, leaving them marginalized and unable to secure a place to call their own. This grim reality perpetuates feelings of helplessness and compounds the daily difficulties they endure. 

 

In 2019, a life-altering encounter with a hit and run driver altered the course of my life forever. I found myself temporarily paralyzed dealing with a broken back and a traumatic brain injury, relying on a metal back brace and confined to a bed for a year. My personal journey has motivated me to establish a nonprofit organization named UhomePBC. Through UhomePBC, my goal is to provide grants to empower physically disabled individuals achieve homeownership. Together, we can create an environment where valued members of society can live with the utmost dignity and independence.
